Always remember to use a test kit with Taylor Technologies reagents for accuracy – the same reagent type we recommend to our trade clients.

Salt Cells
A salt cell is the most critical part of a chlorinator – and the one most likely to need replacing.
Excessive calcium, high usage, and acid washes can all shorten a cell’s lifespan, damaging the rare earth metals on its anodes.
As a one-stop shop for all pool repairs and replacements, we stock OEM salt cells at trade prices, as well as individual cell components like caps and housings.
Call us to ask about lead times on any cell part or bring a broken cell into our workshop for a same-day diagnosis.

The salt cell isn’t always the problem. Fix everything from leaky cell housings to burnt-out PCBs and get your pool’s chlorine levels back to where they should be.
‘Fast, Professional and Effective’
Our customers say it best.
We’re approved warranty agents for leading chlorinator brands.

As a homeowner, you should clean your salt cell whenever you see white calcium deposits (scale) accumulating.
For most pools, that’s every 6 months.
The best way to remove calcium from your cell’s plates is with a 6% acetic acid solution (cleaning vinegar), which is strong enough to loosen scale but light enough that it won’t damage the rare earth metals that make up your anodes.
Immerse the scales in the solution until the bubbles stop, blast the calcium free with a hose, and repeat as needed.
If you don’t have time to clean your cell at home, bring it into our Varsity Lakes workshop – we’ll also check your cell’s terminals to make sure they’re receiving power properly.
Our workshop is located at 490 Scottsdale Drive in Varsity Lakes. We support tradies and homeowners across Queensland and northern New South Wales with pool cleaner replacements and repairs, but we don’t do callouts or site visits.
All our salt cells are available in stock at our Varsity Lakes workshop. You can visit us in person or place an order by calling (07) 5568 0280.
If you’re buying a new cell or checking your existing one, make sure:
We don’t offer any extended warranties. All our salt cells are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties, which generally last for 3 years or 6,000 hours (whichever comes first).
With regular cleaning, your salt cell should last 3 to 7 years before it needs replacing. The average cell has a lifespan of about 5 years.
